Like Christmas Eve, Christmas day is very traditional. No one can go out into the living room until everyone is ready and not before 7 AM. Everyone walks out and sees what Santa left in their stocking. This year we decided to eat the hearty breakfast before the long present opening session. Homemade tamales with chili verde, eggs, potatoes, tortillas, homemade bread with jam... need I go on? It worked out well that way and everyone was a little more awake and ready for stage 2 - presents. It's always an overkill because everyone is so generous and loves to give to one another. But, it is incredibly fun to watch the everyones faces light up when they open their gifts.
